Media Releases November 26, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WWF TO PRESENT NEW ENVIRONMENTAL GUIDELINES
Mountain biking and its associated infrastructure have environmental impacts, both negative and positive. The international conservation organisation WWF in conjunction with Kona have developed and launched a set of guidelines promoting environmental best practice for bike parks.
We are pleased to announce that Gael Leopold of WWF International will be leading a workshop session at the World Mountain Bike Conference, Dumfries, Scotland in May 2009. He will be discussing the development and content of this new initiative aimed at minimising negative ecological impacts and sustaining a healthy natural environment without diminishing the mountain biking experience.
With environmental sustainability key to the future of mountain biking, this topic should be of interest to all delegates attending the Conference and we look forward to these guidelines stimulating lively discussion and debate!
